<p style="text-align: justify;">The Golf Tournament is a “foursome – scramble”, which means that each player tees off on each hole. The best of the tee shots is selected and all players play their second shots from that spot. The winners will be presented during the dinner at the Golf club&#8217;s restaurant and fabulous prizes will be handed out. Besides a fantastic day of golf there will be a raffle where players have the chance to win gift cards and other prizes. Those that are more interested in mingling and networking can join only for the dinner.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">SACC San Diego have arranged this Golf Tournament for many years and SACC GLA is looking forward to host this event together.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>We are happy to announce that 50 percent of the profit will benefit Kure It,</strong> a California based non-profit charity organization that was founded by Barry Hoeven in 2007. The mission of Kure It is to provide direct funding for innovative kidney and other orphan cancer research. The money raised through Kure It will directly support researchers who are committed to finding long-term treatments, and ultimately a cure for cancer.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">We are seeking new Marketing Manager Interns for the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in Los Angeles for Fall 2012.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">There are two out of four open positions for Fall 2012, one will focus on Event Management and the other one on Finance, Accounting and Membership  Management.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">An academic background and experience in event planning and sponsorship management or accounting and finance is a huge plus. However, we are open-minded; if you lack experience but still feel that you would fit perfectly for this position, let us know why. Most important is that you have a great personality, excellent written and spoken English, know how to prioritize in stressful situations and that you are a creative problem solver. Great interest in and knowledge about creative industries is also an advantage.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Although the internship is unpaid it is a unique opportunity to invest in your own network and make valuable connections with both the Swedish and the American creative industries.</p>

Ruth Bornhauser</em></strong><em> has been working at the prestige talent management firm Sanders Armstrong Caserta (SAC) for 10 years. She has been actively involved in the careers of such talents as James Gandolfini (Sopranos) , Chris Noth (Sex and the City) and Malin Akerman (Watchmen, Rock Of Ages). Ruth has also built her own roster of established and up and coming actors. </em></p>
<p><em>Born in Vienna and raised in Berlin, Ruth studied business and economics at the Freie Universitaet Berlin.  During her college years she started to spend time in LA and got her first industry experiences by interning at production companies such as Jerry Bruckheimer Films, Fountainbridge Films (Sean Connery&#8217;s production company at the time) and Mutual Films.</em></p>
<p><em>Ruth now also ventures into the world of development and producing with her clients.</em></p>

<p><strong>We are seeking an Event Intern for the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in Los Angeles during the most exciting period the chamber has ever been through. </strong></p>
<p>The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Los Angeles (SACC-GLA) is planning an exclusive event June 3 and 4 with a focus on innovative and creative industries. The event is growing rapidly and we are now looking for an additional Marketing Manager intern with focus on event planning to start ASAP and stay with us for 6 months.</p>
<p>As an<strong> event intern at SACC-GLA</strong> you are responsible for:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Event management</strong>: Plan and discuss event strategies with the board and team, write project description, briefing of team and other involved partners, budget responsibility, time-planning, booking of location and catering, create briefs and be responsible for marketing.</li>
<li><strong>Manage sponsorship efforts</strong>: Manage and build sponsorship efforts with potential sponsors and negotiate sponsorship deals. Be responsible for monitoring and making sure sponsorship deals are followed through.</li>
<li><strong>Handle general marketing</strong>: Together with your team, be responsible for the general marketing of the chamber during events and through different marketing channels.</li>
</ul>
<p>An academic background and experience in event planning and sponsorship management is a huge plus. However, we are open-minded; if you lack experience but still feel that you would fit perfectly for this position, let us know why. Most important is that you have a great personality, excellent written and spoken English, know how to prioritize in stressful situations and that you are a creative problem solver. Great interest in and knowledge about creative industries is also an advantage.</p>
<p>Although the internship is unpaid it is a unique opportunity to invest in your own network and make valuable connections with both the Swedish and the American creative industries. The event will attract leading and innovative Swedish companies and individual talents in film, television, gaming, fashion, music, advertising and key players on the American market such as e.g. investors, distributors and agents. You will also gain experience from managing the largest, most exclusive and creative event ever arranged by the chamber.</p>

You will attend events and be responsible for the common efforts of strengthening the Chamber through recruitment of new members, finding new collaboration partners and continuously work towards creating a good team and demonstrate good work ethics.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Although the position as event intern is unpaid it’s an unique opportunity to build a trans-Atlantic network at a high level, while learning how to step into a managerial role with big responsibility immediately. You will work with SACC-GLA members, other Chambers of Commerce and local American businesses as well Swedish companies based here in the US. You will build your personal network within a variety of fields such Entertainment, Clean-Technology, Gaming, Biotech, as well as other business areas. You will learn and develop your PR and marketing abilities as well as how to lead high-level projects.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>We are looking for </strong>a person who has a degree in business, marketing or equivalent, excellent social skills, strong strategic thinking, has an inner drive, is self-motivated and preferably have some sales experience. We want you to be innovative and creative and at the same time be structured and accurate. It is important that you are comfortable and proficient with speaking and writing in English. (It’s a plus if you are familiar with spoken and written Business English as well). You must be able to take initiative and understand how you can be part of furthering our interests. More than three years of work experience is preferred but not required.</p>
